The new noise in town is for blockchain and cryptocurrencies.
In simple terms, a blockchain is a set of immutable timestamp records maintained by a group of computers that do not belong to any object. Each of these data blocks (i.e. blocks) are protected and linked together using cryptographic principles (i.e. chains).
