The common ones are AI engineer, generative AI, agentic AI, AI product manager, and AI trainer jobs. Freshers in India usually start between ₹5 and ₹12 LPA, and Gen AI hiring is moving the fastest. The World Economic Forum expects 170 million new jobs and 92 million lost ones by 2030. Data analytics roles with an AI angle are well established. Project management and accounting are a different case, since most of those are existing jobs that now ask for AI skills. Below you will find each type of role, pay, hiring companies, skills, and a simple plan for a first offer.

Ask ten people about AI jobs, and you will get two opinions. Some say freshers have no chance. Others say it has never been easier. After reading through hiring reports, live listings, and the research behind both views, I think neither side has it quite right.

This guide sticks to what is useful. It includes information on job availability, salary expectations, necessary skills, and where to begin. I also looked at whether there are indeed AI Data Analytics, Project Management, and Accounting jobs, as these are common questions.

This blog is unique in the following ways. I didn’t stuff it with a ton of job titles that you will never apply for. Instead, I have stayed true to the facts and kept it plain and simple so you can see where you’re at now and where to take the next step. It is suitable for a fresher, a final-year student, or a working professional thinking about a change. No coding experience is required to get started here. Small steps add up quickly, and a data analytics course that teaches the basics from scratch is a good place to start. Let us get into it together.

AI Jobs in 2026: The Market at a Glance

A quick definition first. AI job: A job in which AI is intrinsically used to work. You construct it, supervise it, or train it. It’s not an AI job if you use ChatGPT to get your emails done quickly. Everyone from engineers to product managers, analysts to people who read model answers, does. Everything is growing, and the statistics support that:

About 2.9 lakh AI jobs have been posted in India in 2025, according to one industry tracker, and it anticipates a 32% increase to 3.82 lakh jobs in 2026.

Talent gap: NASSCOM says India may need nearly 10 lakh people with AI skills by 2027, while only about 5 to 6.5 lakh are trained today.

A 2026 recruitment report revealed that the number of job postings that require AI skills in India has increased from 8.2% in 2025 to 11.7% in 2026. (Source)

If a company has more people it requires than the market has to offer, then the wages will increase. The best openings also fill up fast. One more point that people overlook: many of these jobs do not need an engineering degree. Analysts, product people, subject experts, and writers are all getting in, so I have grouped AI-related jobs by the kind of work rather than by qualification.

Explore your first AI Job

If I were starting today, this is the path I would take.

First AI Job ToolkitTwo quick tools. GOQii Technologies in Mumbai is looking for an AI-first Technical Product Manager, and Credence in Pune wants an AI Product Manager for healthcare billing. In both, your job is to decide what the AI should do and make sure it works properly before it ships.

At GOQii, you turn client needs into requirements and user stories, work with developers on APIs, support chatbot and recommendation projects, and test AI outputs before launch.

At Credence, you own the AI roadmap, decide how model accuracy is measured, and watch for the model getting worse over time.

AI is the product here, so you are always asking where a model helps, how you will judge it, and what happens when it gets things wrong. GOQii asks for 3 to 5 years in product, project management or business analysis and offers ₹4 to 6 LPA. Credence asks for 8+ years. Both expect Agile experience and comfort with tools like Jira.

If you are a fresher, these are not entry-level roles. Start as a business analyst or associate product manager, then move into AI products.

AI Trainer Jobs

“AI trainer” means two different jobs on Indian job boards, so check which one you are applying for.

Teaching people AI: ADEO Distinctions & Dimensions has a full-time remote AI Trainer opening offering ₹4.8–4.92 LPA. You learn the company’s AI curriculum, then run online sessions on AI tools, prompting and how models generate answers. It asks for AI knowledge beyond basic ChatGPT, strong English or Hindi, and about 8 hours a day.

Training the AI itself: Meridial hires remote contract AI trainers, such as Hindi voice specialists. You record and review AI-generated speech, mark errors and help improve the guidelines the model learns from. Pay ranges from $6 to $65 an hour depending on experience and location.

In the second job, your judgement becomes the data the model learns from. This is the human feedback process behind chatbots, known as RLHF.

The first job suits freshers with good AI basics and communication skills. The second needs a specific skill, like language fluency or expertise in a field.

AI Engineer Jobs

AI engineer jobs are usually the first thing people think of. The work is about taking a model and making it useful. That might mean connecting a language model to a company’s data, adding it to an app, and then checking that it behaves after launch.

Employers are looking for the same set of skills in the same manner over and over again when they look for new employees:

Python and SQL: Python provides you with tools to work with data and write code; SQL is used to extract information from databases.

Understanding basic machine learning concepts: making predictions with models, and distinguishing between a correct and an incorrect prediction.

Deployment: APIs, cloud, and monitoring – if a model is in a notebook, it earns no money.

Communication: talking with other non-coding teammates about your decisions.

Each week consists of some coding, some testing, some meetings with the product team, and some breaking things all night long and fixing them. The Freshers typically join as junior AI/ML engineers or as Data Engineers and then transition to the role. Employers are most interested in whether you’ve created something that is effective. If you’re still undecided on whether to go with how AI and data science are changing the rules, this article may help you choose.

Gen AI Jobs

Generative AI jobs are centered around tools that generate text, images, or code. This is where recruitment participation is growing. Nearly all companies desire a chatbot, co-pilot, or an agent inside their product.

The roles you will see most often:

LLM engineer: adapts and tests language models for a specific business need.

RAG developer: links a model to a company’s own documents so answers stay accurate.

Gen AI analyst: checks output quality and reports problems to the build team.

Evaluation specialist: tests answers for accuracy, tone, and safety.

Fresher pay in Gen AI is reported at around ₹8 to ₹12 LPA. Some reports put it 15 to 40% above a general AI engineer role, though the figure depends on the source. There is a catch. Many companies first move their own engineers into these roles, so outside hiring is smaller than it looks. Entry-level titles are also gentler, so search for associate AI engineer, Gen AI analyst, or AI developer trainee.

Agentic AI Jobs

Agentic AI jobs are the newest lane. An AI agent does not just reply to a question. It takes action, like reading an email, checking a database, booking a slot, or raising a ticket. Someone has to design those steps, set the limits, and repair the agent when it gets something wrong.

AI agent developer: builds agents that use tools and complete multi-step tasks.

Workflow designer: decides what the agent handles and where a person steps in.

Agent evaluation engineer: tests how reliably agents behave before real users depend on them.

Most agentic AI jobs today ask for some experience, so freshers tend to reach them through Gen AI or AI engineer roles. A single small agent project in your portfolio will still set you apart from most applicants.

AI Product Manager Jobs

AI product manager jobs are real, and companies are hiring for them now. Look at what’s open today. GOQii Technologies, Mumbai, is looking for an AI-first Technical Product Manager, and Credence, Pune, is looking for an AI Product Manager for healthcare billing. It’s the same process: You give the AI instructions, and you ensure it ships.

What the job looks like:

At GOQii, you turn client needs into requirements and user stories, work with developers on APIs, and support chatbot and recommendation projects. You also test AI outputs before launch.

At Credence, you own the AI roadmap, set how model accuracy is measured, and watch for the model getting worse over time.

How AI comes into it: AI is the product you’re building, so you’re always asking where a model helps, how you’ll judge it, and what happens when it’s wrong.

What employers ask for: GOQii wants 3 to 5 years in product, project management, or business analysis, and offers ₹4 to 6 LPA. Credence wants 8+ years. Both expect Agile experience and comfort with tools like Jira.

If you’re a fresher: These aren’t entry-level roles. Start as a business analyst or associate product manager, then move into AI products.

AI Trainer Jobs

“AI trainer” means two different jobs on Indian job boards, so check which one you’re applying for.

Job 1, teaching people AI:

ADEO Distinctions & Dimensions has a full-time remote AI Trainer opening at ₹40,000 to 41,000 a month.

You learn the company’s AI curriculum, then run online sessions teaching students AI tools, prompting, and how models generate answers.

It requires AI knowledge beyond basic ChatGPT, strong English or Hindi, and about 8 hours a day.

Job 2, training the AI itself:

Meridial hires remote contract AI trainers, such as Hindi voice specialists.

You record and review AI-generated speech, mark errors, and help improve the guidelines the model learns from.

Pay ranges from $6 to $65 an hour depending on experience and location.

How AI comes into it: In the second job, your judgment becomes the data the model learns from. That’s the human-feedback process behind chatbots, known as RLHF.

Who can apply: Job 1 suits freshers with good AI basics and communication skills. Job 2 needs a specific skill, like language fluency or expertise in a field.

Pro Tip:
Build one small RAG project on documents you know well, such as your college syllabus. I looked into each one, and the answers are not the same.

Area

Verdict

In one line

AI data analytics

Well established

Data skills sit under almost every AI role

AI project management

Real, mostly an upgrade

Existing project managers are adding AI to their toolkit

AI accounting and finance

Real, as an added skill

Accountants who use AI tools are preferred in more listings

Now the details behind each verdict.

AI Data Analytics: AI runs on data, and someone has to clean it and explain it. WEF ranks big data specialists as the fastest-growing job to 2030. Over 40% of data analytics postings in India now mention AI.

AI Project Management: It’s project managers adding AI skills, not a new job. About 5% of general PM postings ask for AI, and 10 to 20% in IT and finance (QA estimate). Gartner says AI will run 80% of PM tasks by 2030.

AI Accounting: AI now appears in 30% of US accountant postings, up from 18%. In FP&A, it’s 43%, up from 33%. Auditors aren’t being replaced yet.

So how should you read all this? For project management and accounting, AI is a skill added on top of a profession you already have. For an AI engineer, AI is the profession. If you are already working in finance or project delivery, that is good news, because you can grow into it without starting over. If you are new to all this, our guide to data analyst jobs for freshers shows a practical place to begin.

AI Jobs for Freshers Without Coding

Many do not wish to work with code for an entire day, and that’s okay. There are some AI jobs that require more language, Judgement, and subject knowledge:

AI trainer/evaluator: Writing abilities and subject knowledge are more important than programming skills.

AI operations/quality analyst: Observe the results of the AI process, identify any mistakes, and inform engineers about the trends you’ve detected.

AI governance and policy support: assist companies in compliance with privacy, safety, and audit regulations.

You’re a business analyst on an AI project: you translate business needs into unambiguous requirements for the tech team.

Suppose you are a commerce graduate/law student. You may be offered opportunities to enter these positions sooner than one might think since the industry is looking for individuals who have a thorough understanding of a field and can recognize when a model is incorrectly used. Throw in some Excel and SQL on top, and the doors open even more.

AI Jobs in India: Cities, Remote Work and AI Jobs Salary

The AI sector in India is centered in technology hubs. The table indicates that Bengaluru is the top city, followed by Hyderabad, Pune, Mumbai region, Chennai, and Delhi NCR. There are some remote jobs, but they are typically given to those who have experience. When looking for a search engine in Mumbai or Pune, you’re likely to find a hybrid site. Yes, there are jobs for freshers that don’t require you to report to the workplace like an engineer, but they are typically in training, annotation, or support, and have lower pay and security.

Salary figures swing a lot between reports. I compared several 2026 sources and kept the range where they agree. This is what AI job salaries look like in India.

Level

Rough range (per year)

What moves the number

Fresher (0 to 2 years)

₹5 – 12 LPA

Portfolio quality, type of employer

Mid-level (3 to 6 years)

₹12 – 25 LPA

Production experience, MLOps skills

Senior (7+ years)

₹30 – 60 LPA and above

Architecture, leadership, Gen AI depth

IT services companies sit at the lower end for freshers, around ₹5 to ₹8 LPA. The Future of Jobs Report 2025 polled more than 1,000 companies, and the key conclusions of the report were as follows:

Jobs: There would be an increase of 170 million jobs by 2030, while 92 million jobs would be lost, resulting in a net gain of 78 million jobs.

Scale: approximately 22% of employment will be impacted in some way.

Big Data: The growth areas are made up of big data specialists, fintech engineers, and AI and machine learning specialists.

Skills: almost 40% of jobs’ required skills will evolve.

The AI revolution in employment is thus not about the loss of jobs. Rather, it is a large reshuffle, with those who move first getting the nicer seats.

Did You Know?
The World Economic Forum estimates that 59 out of every 100 workers will need new skills by 2030, and 11 of them may not get the training. Jobs that are repetitive and mundane are most stressful.

Under more pressure

Holding up better

Data entry clerks

AI engineers and people who check AI work

Administrative assistants and secretaries

Care and teaching roles

Cashiers and ticket clerks

Skilled trades and hands-on work

Some graphic design production work

Roles with accountability, like auditors and doctors

Lists like this go out of date quickly, so a simple test works better. A job that tends to last longer has more of these attributes:

Physical presence: Work is performed in a real place with hands/Tools.

Accountability: there has to be someone who is accountable and will accept responsibility when it goes wrong.

Human trust: the job requires negotiation, caring, teaching, or persuading.

Messy judgement: the problem is unclear, and no clean data exists.

AI oversight: the role involves directing, testing, and correcting AI itself.

The last one matters most for you. Even where AI replacing jobs is a genuine trend, someone still has to direct and check the machines, and that is exactly where new AI jobs come from.

What is the Future of AI Jobs?

Industry estimates suggest that there may be more than 4 million AI and ML jobs in India by 2030 and that pay could increase by as much as 15-20% annually. Don’t make that a guarantee, but rather a direction. The art will change as well. Single models won’t be built as much, but governance, safety, and subject experts will be needed more, and the management of AI agents will be more important.

Agent work: Agents that are set up, monitored, and maintained by people will be needed.

Governance and safety roles will continue to expand in response to tighter regulations, with the rules and audits as key components.

Mixed skills: finance, healthcare, and retail will need folks who are knowledgeable about both data and the business.

That last mix is hard for a model to copy and hard for employers to find, which is why it tends to last. Data analyst, junior data science, and AI trainer roles are good starting points, as long as you have a portfolio.

Which Jobs Will AI Replace by 2030?

Routine jobs like data entry, admin support, and cashier work face the most pressure. Jobs that need judgement, trust, and accountability hold up best.

Are Project Management and Accounting Roles Part of AI Jobs?

Partly. They are mostly existing jobs that now ask for AI skills, so learning AI tools makes you stronger in both.

Do AI Jobs Need a Coding Background?

Not always. Product, training, and governance roles need less coding, though knowing data helps in every lane.

Your Next Step Into AI Jobs Starts Now

Remember the two opinions from the start? Neither is fully right. The door is not shut, but the first step has moved. It now sits in data, real projects, and hands-on AI skills, and not only in degrees. Predictions will continue to shift on a month-to-month basis, and it’s okay. The constant is that businesses must have individuals capable of responsibly working with data and AI.

It’s not possible to manipulate the headlines. You can regulate your portfolio, your abilities, and the course or lane you choose. When you are prepared to start, our data analytics course provides you with the base, projects, and interview practice to transform anything you see in the news about AI jobs into offers!

Freshers can land AI jobs in 2026, but the roles that pay well need skills most people skip.

[5957

post-278360","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-data-analytics

 <!-- All in One SEO 5.0.1.1 -
